Why On Earth Am I Here?
There are some basic life questions that you need to ask
yourself if you are to find your place in this world. If you fail to ask
yourself these questions, you might live all your life regretting the purpose
of your existence.
God has created each and everyone one of us for a purpose.
And he wants us to fulfill that purpose before we finish our assignment in this
world. If you are not fulfilling that purpose, then you are not fit to live.
Even some inventions and some creatures are to teach us some unforgettable life
lesson. If you have a car, and it cannot drive you around, and you have to be
visiting the mechanic workshop every now and then, then what purpose is that
car serving.
Imagine a bee that cannot produce honey and a dog that cannot
bark or a phone that cannot receive call or do perform its functions. If that
is the case, then it is useless.
If you get this picture properly, then, it means that a life
without purpose is purposeless. Have you asked yourself, “Why am I here?” “Why
am I created?” If you have not asked yourself these questions, you still have a
chance to do that today.
I think it is over for man when he has fulfilled all God
wanted him to do. If on the other hand, you are not fulfilling your assignment,
God will just say you are not fit to live. It is like the parable of the
fruitless tree. Jesus asked, “Cut it down. Why cumbereth it the ground?”
When God created the first man, He gave him an assignment.
What was that assignment? To take care of the garden. This was even before God
gave him an helper, Eve. So, no man is created useless. Whenever my dad wanted
to describe a useless person, he used to say “as useless as the left hand.”
This was when I was young. But when I grew up, I discovered that that some
people are southpaw and they use their left hand. Some are even ambidexter. Just
as God has not created any part of the
body useless, so he has not created anyone useless.
The only problem is that you have not find your purpose or discovered
your assignment. Let me ask you again: “Have you discovered why you are
created?” What I mean is that have you find your calling. It could be teaching,
mentoring, counseling, singing, acting, caring, broadcasting, building or just
anything. It is important that you discover that. If you did not discover that,
you will be living another man’s script. In short, you will not be fulfilling
the purpose of your existence here on earth. And to some, life will not be
fulfilling. They go through life distraught, hapless and disillusioned. I am
sure you don’t want that to happen to you. It is possible that this is your
picture. If this is you, it is not too late to get down and pen down what you
want to be. Ask God what why he has created you and the very purpose of your
existence. And what thing I like about God is this is that he likes answering
life questions especially when we are confused. If you did not get a response,
you can see a counselor. I can assure you that God has plan for you and you
will never play the second fiddle.
