It's another chapter of my life, celebrate with me!

  1. I remembered attending a friend's birthday party more than ten years ago who turned fifty (50). He is far older than I am anyway, since then, I have been thinking how turning fifty would look like.

  2. That birthday party was one of the memorable one that I have ever attended. On that occasion, he did a housewarming. The other of my friend celebrated with a doctorate degree last year. So, I have been planning and racking my brain what special event I would mark my own with,
  3. Finally, the day I have been waiting for is here and it appears that I was haven't done my preparation and was caught unawares. While doing my preparation last year before this D-day, I thought I would have completed a foreign degree abroad or would have moved into my own house or would have done something special or remarkable. But, I really don't know how time flies, and I was caught unprepared,
  4. But, the most important thing is that I am alive and to see this wonderful stage of my life. Turning fifty or becoming a Quinquagenarian (please don't mind my vocab. I just discovered this word) or celebrating a Golden Jubilee is something that I will be grateful to God for.
  5. I never thought that I would be alive to witness this day because there was a time the enemy wanted to take my life. But, God said my time was not yet up. That is why living itself is a testimony because our existence is in God's hand.
  6. Just few hours to my birthday, I decided to do some research about what it means to turn 50. And here is what I got.

  8. You're not afraid to have opinions.

  55. You have a better ability to forgive others.
  56. You have a better ability to forgive yourself.

As a Christian, I usually celebrate my birthday by committing that day into God's hand through prayer and making a request. This has been my lifestyle over the years. Last year, God gave me a blank cheque to ask what I wanted, and it was a surprise gift.

On this special day, I thank God for making me to witness another birthday. God has been faithful to me. And I want to be more faithful to Him and fulfil his plan and purpose in me. Happy birthday to me.

                                    A Birthday Prayer

Lord, I thank you for making me to see this special day.
And opening a new chapter of my life to take me to
  the next level
On this special occasion, I ask for your grace to love you more
See more of you, learn more of you, depend more of you!
Talk to you more and talk less to more!
Share more at your table, than of this daily bread
Forget self, but remember you and those in need.
Watching at your door to hear your voice every morning.
And grace to look up everyday for strength to face
the challenges of the day while I look forward to
   your coming
     - Amen
