Life Is All About Discovery

Life is all about discovery. I guess you have heard that countless times. Making success in life is all about discovering yourself- I mean discovering those hidden and untapped potential you have in you. Most great successful people in life have attributed their success stories not only to their background, social status, upbringing and other factors, but to being able to discover themselves.
I guess the question that will be coming to your mind now is, ‘how do I discover myself.’ This is a good question.
Before I answer this question, I would want you that know that God has given us all that we need to succeed- whether you know it or not. How do I mean? God has endowed each and everyone of us with innate potentials and abilities. It is more valuable that any natural resources that you can think of. Take the crude oil for example. Before it is extracted, you would not ever imagined that you could get something precious like petroleum, diesel, kerosene and other natural resources out of it.
Until you discover yourself, you will never know the great and invaluable potentials that you have inside of you. I like the Peak slogan, ‘It’s in you.’
If you ask me what I think one of the greatest tragedies of life is, ‘I would say it is to dying unfulfilled.’ Sometimes, I wonder why some people in life play the second fiddle or go through life as if they are acting life. Life is supposed to be lived to the fullest. I mean one is supposed to maximize all one’s potentials to its optimal use. Anything short of this in my own view is not ‘living’, but mere ‘existing’. It would have dawned on you that some people are just existing and not living. Those who are existing just take all that life give them, they are victim of circumstance. They don’t have the right of choice; they are adjust to life instead of dictating what real existence should be. That is existing. I pray your life should not be like that in Jesus name. Those who are living have power of choice; they are in control.
As you know, there are two types of people in this world- the actors and spectators. You need to ask yourself, who are you? – actor or spectator.
To go back to the crux of the matter, you can discover yourself by asking yourself some life questions.
Life questions are the questions that you alone has answers to- no one could answer them for you. If you cannot provide answers to them, too bad, you are lost, you cannot find your bearing in life. And let me say this, if  you have not at any point answer these questions, it is doubtful if you would be able to find your feet in life – I mean it is doubtful if you would be able to be successful. If you do, such success would not be lasting.
Below are some of the questions you should ask yourself;
§  Who am I
§  Why am I here
§  Where am I going
§  How do I get there
§  What do I want from life
§  How do I achieve this
I think I should leave you with this question to ponder on if you have not asked yourself these life questions. We shall be looking at the second part of this episode when next I write. I hope by then you would have done something about these food for thought.
